A troll/bot analysis of the videos downvoters would be worthwhile. ‘The Gillette video got hated’ is what’s been concluded, as reported in this article, and many may draw the conclusion that what the Ad is trying to do is going to fail because most men will reject it. But that may not be true. There are troll campaigns against eg films featuring women superhero /black leads- trying to create a fake majority consensus via artificial troll hate is an alt right speciality. Don’t believe their hype.
I for one am happy to see a company take a stance on this. Maybe it’s just virtue signalling but who of us can say our own motivations are 100% sincere? Yet we may try to move in the right direction. Rather than slag the video off, I ask myself ‘how is my behaviour with women? Would my mum approve of it? Could I do better?’
